We are meeting to view/play the incredible collection of Michael Davidson. You HAVE to see it for yourself.

Out of towners - book flights. Come and see it. We have even made it a Saturday afternoon. (Feb 22nd)

Sounds awesome, and its in both a location and on a date that I can actually attend...

I'll go rsvp later on today (or tonight - since I have my password for meetup saved there). I'm sure the wife may be curious as well. Thanks!

Groovy. It'll be interesting to match faces to forum handles. In case anybodies wanting to know my real name, its Kevin Phillips (so I can identify myself as that, and not "kevman3d").

You'll know me by face if you look at my blog (at the very bottom, right of the page) - I might even wear the same baseball cap just to make it easier to identify with the photo...

Was a great afternoon. Thanks for organizing this Marcus, and for the quick tips on the Commodore power supplies. Of course, big thanks to Michael for allowing us to pop in and check out his awesome collection... Now at least my wife knows how little the amount of "junk" I have in the house is in comparison.

Here is a photoset from one of the attendees. You have to be a Facebooker by the looks of it:

Thanks to everyone that attended this (we had 20+ attendees), it was a great afternoon and I enjoyed opening up my shed and sharing some of the collection.
Doing this is a really good motivator to test, repair, setup and have machines powered on and used.

Someone asked me about future meet-ups and I'd like to do some smaller ones in future that focused more around specific systems, families of systems or manufacturers.
i.e.. Sinclair (ZX81, Spectrum, QL), Atari 8Bit (400/800/XEGS), Early Atari2600 console competitors (Colecovision, Intellivision, Videopac)
I'd also like to have more time with systems I've never really used - BBC Micro (I just have Electron's), Spectravideo, Dick Smith Wizzard etc.

For those who didn't attend the latest RetroGamers Meetup to see Michael's collection, http://www.bosslevel.co.nz did a nice little video:

Enjoy.
