Iomega Jaz and Fujitsu optical

Postby artig on Sun Jun 23, 2019 8:40 pm

Is anyone interested in an old Iomega Jaz drive with 5 disks, or a Fujitsu optical drive with 6 disks? The Jaz uses removable 1GB magnetic disk packs, and the Fujitsu 230MB removable optical disks. Both are 3.5" drives, and require SCSI controllers. Both are working, and have just been used to read and erase the disks.

For a genuine collector the only cost is postage and packing. I'd just prefer not seeing them sold on TradeMe shortly afterwards.

I have one of these SCSI jazz drives but no cable. Do you know if the cable is specific to the machine or are they quite generic?

It's a wide cable with generic connectors. The same cable is used for 2 hard disks as well as the Jaz and optical drives. It just needs a connector at the end of the cable with terminating resistors, unless the last drive on the chain has a jumper which can select its built-in terminating resistors. I probably have a spare SCSI cable if you need one.

Were you just interested in a disk or two?

I'm usually only on this site once a week unless someone leaves a pm for me so I get an email notification.
