IBM 5153 monitor - What's it worth?

by MisJiF » Sat Mar 14, 2015 4:30 pm

I have an IBM 5153002 monitor surplus. It powers on OK and scan lines show when brightness adjusted etc. It does have a college name engraved into the top of it but is cosmetically good (no major yellowing etc.)

Was told it's a green screen, but appears that model is a colour screen.

What's it worth? PM me if you're interested in buying it too.

Thanks,

Mike.

The IBM 5151 is a green screen display (720x350 mono), and shows no raster when powered up (it needs a signal to display anything)
The IBM 5153 is a colour display that should show a grey/white raster screen when powered up.

Is it showing pure green when you power it on?

It does show a grey/white raster screen when powered up. I was told it was a green screen but I don't have a suitable computer to test it with. If it's colour then that is even better. Thanks for the info.
