Forums now read-only

Postby tezza on Sun Dec 18, 2022 4:25 pm

For many years this forum played a role in supporting the vintage computing hobby for many New Zealanders. Over the years, new platforms of discussion have opened up and the community has grown and spread out. There are now many social media groups which have active VC communities with a NZ focus. The Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/nzvintagecomputing) I started many years ago is an example. Social media, although not without downsides (ads, data harvesting) does contain all the tools to make administration and promotion of such a group easy.

All good things must come to an end, and given the present level of use, and the amount of spam-bots who rear their ugly heads when membership is open, I've decide to make these forums read only. However, the Board is not going to disappear just yet. It will remain on the web for the foreseeable future as an archive. I want to thank all who posted and contributed to it during it's 15 or so years of activity.
