Hi from Nelson

Introduce yourself. Tell people why you are interested in vintage computers and what (if anything) you've got.

Hi from Nelson

My name is Gary and I am in Nelson (NZ not BC).

A semi-retired electronics technician, I bought my first computer in 1979, a Commodore Pet 8k.
Over the years, I have had most of the Commodore family, but these days I use a Mac.
I still have a couple of Pet 8032-US motherboards that I may try to resurrect sometime.
I have fairly good vacuum desoldering gear so hopefully I can fix them.

My collection these days focusses on single-board computers (SBCs), both vintage and modern.
I have a number of early SBCs e.g. Sym-1, HP5036a, Heathkit, Livermore etc.
I also mess about with ATmega and PIC processor boards at times.
In fact the next project is to build a DRAM tester as these are hard to come by these days.
Also, I get down on old arcade-game and industrial computer boards for parts.

Also a PiDP-8 (http://obsolescence.wix.com/obsolescence#!pidp-8/cbie) is in the offing.

I'm on TradeMe as twenty_b where I sell valves/tubes from my large collection,
and the occasional stereo valve amp I build or restore.

Enough waffle from me, good to be here.
