Hi,

I'm Paul Cull, I started learning about programming when still in my late teens at Christchurch Polytech in the early 1980s, first teaching myself BASIC on the Commodore PETs in the library and then learning "real programming" on the PDP-11/05s (BASIC and Pascal), and ICL 2980 (COBOL).

I worked as a programmer / analyst and systems administrator for a number of years, including on the first IBM PCs and XTs when they came out here in New Zealand. More recently I have been working in an entire different field, with at-risk young people in Brazil.

I've joined the forum as I'd love to get my hands on a working PET or CBM for old-times' sake.

Well, that's enough about me,

Regards

Paul

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forums!

PET's are rare here in New Zealand. Good luck in finding one. I guess if you are in Brazil, it doesn't matter if it comes from North America or Europe either. Either way shipping will cost a bomb! They do appear on e-bay from time to time.

Yeah, I hope I can get my hands on one.

I forgot to add that I am back in New Zealand at the moment, at least until mid-January, maybe longer.

I see. Well, you never know what might come out of the woodwork. Hopefully you have some success Paul.

I have a PET but I won't be giving that up for anything :)
